We have already given you details on when the release date for the Palm Pre will be, along with the price as well, but if that is not enough for you, then how about the fact that Palm is rumored to be working on a second WebOS based handset.
Tech Crunch sources have told them that a second Palm Pre-like device is far along, and looks set to hit the market later in 2009. This will not be a second generation Pre; instead, it will be like a Palm Pre Mini. It seems as if Palm wants to address a different part of the market, which certainly makes perfect sense.
There is not much to go on now, but we do hope that the smaller model will be slimmer. Tech Crunch does not know if the smaller Palm Pre will have a physical keyboard.
There have been a number of rumors that Apple were to launch a smaller iPhone, called an iPhone Nano or Shuffle, but they turned out not to be true. Maybe Palm wants to jump ahead of Apple and launch a small version of their upcoming handset; this could work out to be a great idea for the struggling phone maker.
