Nintendo DSi: Parental Controls
By: Alan Ng | April 29, 2009 | Leave a CommentIt has been revealed that Nintendo’s parental controls on the DSi handheld block access to over 35 million ‘unsuitable’ websites. The news was recently revealed from Nintendo’s security partners this week.
As reported from TechRadar, the Nintendo DSi gets help from security specialists Astaro who use a cloud-based internet filtering system. Users of the DSi can easily activate the Astaro system by going to your browser settings.
Nintendo Europe MD Laurent Fischer had this to say on their extra tight security measures: “Web access enriches how the Nintendo DSi can be used but we understand the need for security parameters. Astaro’s service provides a powerful level of support to our users and is a valuable part of the new features within the Nintendo DSi.”
