This may be a feature that has gone unnoticed since PS3 firmware 2.70 went into effect a few weeks ago, but the PS3 has it’s very own antivirus built into the browser.
PS3Addiction reports since the 2.70 update went live, the ps3 browser has antivirus options at the ready thanks to Trend Micro, one of the leading AntiVirus softwares on the market.
Trend Micro are offering a trial service on the PS3 which is made up of two main categories. The first is a web filter, which will solve any spam you are getting as well as blocking adult content or any similar websites.
The second option is privacy lock which PS3Addiction states that it will ”protect your personal data such as email addresses, passwords and credit card information from falling into the wrong hands.”
Sounds like a good feature to try out who those who are unaware of it’s existance. Try it out now and let us know what you think.
