Marvel vs. Capcom 2: Confirmed on Xbox 360 and PS3
Filed under: Gaming, Sony Playstation 3, Xbox 360

It had been rumoured for a while, but we can finally confirm to you that Marvel Vs Capcom 2 is on the way to the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. It’s not just a straight port either as it will feature new HD visuals, online play and custom soundtracks.
As reported from Neoseeker, the game is expected on the PS Store and Xbox Live Marketplace sometime this summer. A demo for the game should be available on the US PS Store very soon, with Europe set to follow shortly after.
The game will be based on the Dreamcast version as that is seen as the superior version when compared with the same versions on the PS2 and original Xbox.
NeoSeeker has detailed the key features, as taken from the Capcom Blog.
It’s based on the Dreamcast code base – Seems the gaming community preferred the original Dreamcast version more than the PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions. So Capcom based this revamp on the “best” version — the Dreamcast one.
There is online – Developed by Backbone, this new MvC2 will share the same net code as Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix, meaning gamers will be using the same player matching “lobby” system. Leaderboards and stat tracking will be included as well.
HD upscaling options – Capcom knows many Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 gamers like their HDTVs, so they’ve tossed in a few options for such gamers to choose from in the new MvC2. The two upscaling options have been termed “Crisp” and “Smooth,” though an unfiltered “Classic” option is still available for purists. There doesn’t seem to be much difference between the two HD options, and Sven has stated it’s a matter of personal preference. Comparison screenshots will be available soon, so we’ll be getting a closer look at these 3D environments within the next few days.
Widescreen – Again with the HD! Capcom has added widescreen support, and the edges won’t be cut off like in HD Remix. The gameplay area will be in a 4:3 field, while the viewing area will be widescreen. There will be options to adjust this, of course.
No unlocking – All 56 fighters will be available from the start, so players won’t have to go through the trouble of unlocking them. Great news, unless you actually like unlocking characters in fighting games.
Music Options – The original “jazzy” tunes will be available, but the new MvC2 will also have independent music volume controls and custom soundtrack support.
So, great news for fans of the MvC series then, what do you think about it? We have included the teaser trailer below this post, so take a look and drop us a comment on your impressions.

Review: Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on Xbox 360

This is a godsend to all 360 owners.
Im happy they got it on xbox but why ps3.just because it was on ps2 dont mean sony is worthy of having the best game ever.
Well, you have to think about the people who don’t have the hard copy and want to download it for way less than it is in the market. And the reason Sony should STILL have it is because the PSX before it had all of the Prequels.
IAM GLAD THAT THEY ARE GONNA DO IT AGIN I BEN WAITING SO LONG 4 THE NEXT ON I HOPE ITS AS GOOD AD THE FIRST
