SecureVoice BlackBerry 8830: is Barack Obama content, maybe new Curve
By: Peter Chubb | April 25, 2009 | Leave a CommentWhen Senator Barack Obama was fighting his way to become President Barack Obama he did not go anywhere without his trusty BlackBerry 8830. Since Obama became president, the NSA thought that the handset was not safe enough for him and decided to give him a NSA-certified Sectera Edge smartphone.
As you would imagine, Obama was not happy and started to miss his handset, The Washington Times reports that the NSA is now in its final stages of offering a new BlackBerry 8830 to the president. The handset will now use Genesis Key Inc.’s SecureVoice software, which should be able to withstand hacker attacks and stop spies from eavesdropping.
The problem with this is, RIM are said to be working on a new BlackBerry Curve handset, which should be ready in the next few weeks. Will Barack Obama still be happy with his aging 8330, or will he start to hassle the NSA to offer him a new Curve?
