Facebook News: Former executive aims for MySpace
By: Peter Chubb | April 23, 2009 | Leave a CommentFacebook’s former chief revenue officer, Owen Van Natta looks like a series contender for taking the top job over at MySpace. Chris DeWolfe has announced today that he will not be renewing his contract and will be stepping down.
Van Natta left Facebook back in February 2008, and became ProjectPlaylist’s chief executive, an interactive music-streaming site. He was named last year as being one of the finalists to run MySpace Music, but that job finally went to MTV Networks executive Courtney Holt.
LA Times reports that Van Natta is now in advanced discussions with MySpace, which has been losing ground to rival social network site, Facebook. There has been months of speculation that DeWolfe would be forced out of MySpace, the company that he founded with Tom Anderson.
