Thanks a billion: News of Apple’s Billionth iPhone App Page
By: Peter Chubb | April 22, 2009 | Leave a CommentWe mentioned in a post earlier that Apple would hit its one Billionth iPhone App download sometime on Thursday; Apple is getting ready for the magic number to be hit and has prepared its Billionth iPhone App Page.
Softpedia was sent a screenshot of Apple’s special page by a MacMagazine reader (via Modmyi), the page shows Apple’s promo and a cool slogan saying “Thanks a Billion.” Under the slogan it states that the billion app downloads was achieved in just nine months.
Apple certainly have its App Store right, reaching this amount of downloads in a short amount of time is a great achievement, something that the other app stores hope to repeat. We know the likes of Google, RIM’s Blackberry, Nokia and Windows all have their own version of Apple’s App Store, but let’s face it, they are never going to repeat Apple’s success.
