It is no secret that we are all waiting on Sony to offer a price cut for its PS3 games console, something that Sony have refused to do so far. We have now learned that Sony Computer Entertainment America is all set for an aggressive strategy, and this could include a price reduction for the PlayStation 3 sometime in 2009.
Gamasutra has said that this is a reaffirmation of Sony’s ten-year commitment to the PS3; this comes direct from an interview with senior vice president of marketing Peter Dille. He also went on to say that, Sony is very confident in its marketing plan for the rest of 2209.
Dille was asked if this aggressive strategy includes a possible price cut for the PlayStation 3, he said that Sony are not going to make a move on the price of a PS3, but he did hint that we could see a possible PS3 price cut later this year.

People want a lot of things. I want a toilet made of solid gold, but does that mean I’m going to get a toilet made of solid gold? Probably not.
It’s funny that people keep demanding Sony lower the PS3’s price, meanwhile Nintendo makes Wii’s for about $20 a piece and has the nerve to sell them for $250.00. At least Sony’s console has many high tek features and a great game offering. The same can not be said for the Wii however.
I am going on record now to demand that the Wii lower it’s price.
