Final Fantasy XIII: PS3 Demo increases hardware sales
By: Alan Ng | April 22, 2009 | Leave a CommentWe knew the Final Fantasy XIII demo was going to be extremely popular once it went on release last week, but there have been reports that the demo alone is responsible for shifting over 57,000 Playstation 3 units. That is just insane.
According to a story over at PSXExtreme, they have obtained this figure from retail tracker Sinobi who recorded 57,000 Playstation 3 units sold in just one week, last week.
To think that just a demo, bundled along with Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete on Blu-ray is primarily responsible for shifting over 50K PS3 units in a week is quite staggering to say the least. Sony and Square-Enix must be licking their lips in anticipation of the full game’s Japanese release later this year.
If the full game follows anything along the same pattern, we could see Final Fantasy XIII break a lot of records.
