Wishlist: PS3 Firmware 3.0 update
By: Alan Ng | April 21, 2009 | 13 CommentsIt’s been a few weeks now since PS3 firmware update 2.70 went live on the system. It added various features into the mix, most notably the text chat ability. Heads now turn towards the next PS3 firmware 3.0 update, so what would you like to see added?
In-game Private voice-chat
I suppose the most obvious feature PS3 owners would like to see added is the in-game private voice chat feature. Its a feature most talked about between PS3 and Xbox 360 owners and its inclusion would put many arguments to rest.
Other features high on wish lists would include the following:
More XMB integration In-game: In-game XMB invites to other games would be a good feature added
In-game Music: While in-game music is possible in a small list of titles, it is a feature which Sony has yet to deliver on. Many thought this feature would be a common one months ago, but Sony have been reluctant to add custom music in-game for unknown reasons.
Minor Updates could include –
Better Video Chat options
A dedicated Facebook PS3 app
A dedicated Spotify PS3 app
Those are just some of our ideas which we would like to see in the PS3 Firmware 3.0 update. Do you agree with any of these or do you have your own ideas? Share your thoughts below.
