Little Big Planet on the Playstation 3 has only been out for six months, but it is available to buy for just £10.86 at one retailer in the UK, with several others offering similar prices.
As reported from MCV, the game carries with it an SRP price of £44.99. The media attention this game recieved prior to release was staggering, but it appears now as if the game is really struggling to shift copies.
Retailer DVD.co.uk has the game for £10.86, while Play.com and Amazon both have the game listed for just £12.99.
Sony had this to say on the news: “In general the retail environment is very tough at present, but the positive consequence is that when consumers are feeling the need to monitor their spending there are still some attractive deals to be had if people shop around.”
What do you think? Are there some of you who are annoyed that you paid full price?

Bought LBP for Christmas. Enjoyed it… loved it… embraced (the good) community content and have probably slotted a healthy 50 hours plus into the game. However, it’s a swine of a game to categorise as well as not (potentially) appealing to the hardcore gamer. Although I’ve been playing games since god knows when (Amiga days and before) so am definitely one of those committed gamers.
I genuinely understand that it’s not for everyone but at such a cheap price, go get it. You don’t like it just sell it on eBay for close to the shop price and put it down to a “swing and a miss”.
Finally, it is one of the most charming, lovely games of its time. Stunning graphics which continue to impress right until the end. Awesome bizarre soundtrack with top-notch narration and guidance from the God that is Stephen Fry.
Sadly, all of the accolades don’t make up for the fact that people still don’t quite know what to make of it until they actually play it. Surely, Sony should get a playable demo onto the PSN. That would give EVERYONE a taste.
