PS3 and Mac get 3D Movie player technology
By: Alan Ng | April 21, 2009
Next3D has announced that it will be bringing their 3D Movie Player technology to the Playstation 3 and Apple Mac devices. What’s even better too is that the service will be free to users and will work alongside Next3D’s delivery service.
As reported from PCWorld, the technology made a breakthrough at last month’s GDC event in San Francisco. The use of the Next3D technology will allow the PS3 to ”provide 1080P-resolution high-definition stereoscopic imagery along with digital rights management, distribution and auditing mechanisms for content providers”.
Looks like the use of 3D glasses are going to become a common thing for PS3 owners in the future. We have already mentioned the use of glasses in an exclusive Toy Story game on the Wii, a sign of more things to come perhaps?
