My Mobile Watchdog Review

My Mobile Watchdog Review

By: Peter Chubb | April 21, 2009 | 7 Comments

Sexting is the newest cell phone danger and is affecting children around the world, this is something that parents seem to have little control over, However, My Mobile Watchdog aims to change all that, this idea sounds great so we thought we would review the product.

You are able to protect your children against cell phone threats from as little as $9.95, although this is a lot to pay in this current climate, you cannot put a price on the safety of your child. My Mobile Watchdog will protect your child while they are using their cell phones, you will be alerted immediately if they receive an unapproved text messages, phone call or email.

The service will provide you with the full text message that your child receives on their phone, along with the cell phone number of the person who sent the message, it will then record that information on the website. You are then able to review this information at home or provide them to the authorities. You have to remember that My Mobile Watchdog is not spyware; this software informs the user that they are being monitored.

My Mobile Watchdog is great in the way that it offers special programs to help assist law enforcement across the United States, the software also creates awareness programs for, church, youth groups and schools.

It is a horrible thought that your child could be Sexting, but more children are using cell phones these days and can receive unwanted texts or texts that they think is harmless, but parents know different. For the safety of your child, My Mobile Watchdog is necessary.

I think that this software is absolutely bullshit. If parents can’t trust their children with their own mobile phones then the family has serious problems, this spyware is a complete and utter invasion of privacy and it’s extremely wrong. How would parents like it if their children done this to their mobile phones. I’m sure if children had this done to them they would organise stuff without mobile phones and take off without parents knowing. I think that the creator and anyone else involved in the production should rethink the safety issues of this program

To Anonymous…if you really want people to take you seriously, perhaps you should learn how to spell, speak grammatically correct, and use proper punctuation. You sound like an idiot and like a typical teenager who doesn’t want mom or dad watching what you do on your cell phone. But, I’m sure you’re just fine with them paying for it. Grow up and start living in reality, will ya!

How often is the child phone alerted that it is being monitored.

The issue is not that we don't trust our children. We want the truth of what they are doing. It is too easy to say something is not a big deal that is. A friend's daughter was bullied, and my daughter has the same "friend". I want to make sure that this "friend' is truly a friend and not just using my daughter. The notification she is monitored shows every 24 hours.

I would not buy this for a droid until they get it fixed! I had it on my daughters blackberry for a long time and it worked great. I bought her a droid a few days ago and it started out working fine on it. But they did an update on 11/18 and broke it. When you call the number they have listed you have to wait. No kidding a couple of hours to get a person I am not exaggerating in the least. They have a taped recording telling you can email them so I figure they assume sooner or later everyone will quit waiting. Ok back to the problem at hand. The droid has hundreds of applications, on the old mobile watchdog site you could go and block and unblock whichever applications you wanted your child to use or not use. Now there is no option at all. So when your child goes to text, play music, a game, search the web or anything else you have to manually enter the password on their phone to unblock it for 30 minute intervals. I finally spoke to a person there and asked them if they could not just go back to before they put the update out or at least give you the option of dl'ing either the new release or the old one (not sure why anyone would want one that you couldn't fix the apps on?) but he didn't sound promising at all. My other problem with the new droid "update" is that it has a dog in the top corner of the phone and my mobile watchdog listed at the top in the notifications at all times. And also listed in the Applications. Bit of overkill. On the blackberry it was just buried in the applications and flashed like once a day. My daughter knows its on her phone and really has no problem with it. But she's embarrassed for anyone else to know its on there and I find absolutely no reason for it to be on there flashing on the top screen twice now and also listed in with the programs? Anyways I'm searching for another type monitor at the moment because at 9.95 a month there is hardly any support with this program at all. But I do want to add again, if your not on a droid phone and are on a blackberry I do highly recommend it but I had no need for support then.

Do you have children? It is not my child I don't trust . I think that as far as privacy when you can pay your own bill then you can have privacy . We never thought about this until our daughter give us a reason too.

Invasion of privacy does not apply to minors. When my children grow up and move out, they are free to live without my rules – until then, oh well. Be thankful you have a cell phone and act accordingly.
