First Zune HD and now Apple iPhone HD support
By: Peter Chubb | April 21, 2009 | Leave a CommentThere are reports that Apple are fading out its video cables, this certainly looks like a broader move to a HD video-capable iPhone and iPod Touch. So it looks as though it is not just the new Microsoft Zune HD that will support high-definition video.
Electronista reports that an unnamed source for PhoneNews claims that Apple reseller have been told that Apple Composite AV and Component AV cables are being scrapped, and that a new single cable pack like the Xbox 360′s component cable will feature both component and composite (RCA) cables on a single line. This new cable will allow users to connect their iPhone or iPod Touch direct to a HDTV.
There is no denying that this new cable is more convenient, but Apple are looking to make HD video more widespread on portable devices, and the first device to benefit from this is the Apple iPhone, and with rumors of the new Apple iPhone supporting video recording, the future for the ultimate smartphone is certainly looking good.
