App Store Test: BlackBerry vs. Apple vs. Google
Filed under: Cell Phones, Phone Software

The success of a smartphone is now dependant on its apps, which can be downloaded from an app store. The big three have them, Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) has the iTunes App Store, Research In Motion (NASDAQ:RIMM) has the BlackBerry App World and Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) have the Android Market.
Apple’s iPhone store has been around for about nine months now, and the huge success of the service means that the other two are now having to play catch up. The Apple iTunes App Store has almost achieved 1 billion downloads, and both Google and RIM want a piece of that action.
Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) and Nokia (NYSE: NOK) are also another two who wish to get in on the App Store party, but do they all have what it takes to take on the might of Apple’s App Store.
mocoNews has done an extensive review of Apple’s App Store, Google’s Android Market and BlackBerry App World, read the full review.
