Nintendo has confirmed today that the new DSi handheld managed to sell 435,000 units on its first week on sale in the US. Despite the general feeling that the DSi isnt worth upgrading due to it’s high price point, it hasn’t stopped customers buying, almost hitting an impressive half a million sales in just a week.
As reported from ArsTechnica, the figures were released as part of the latest NPD stats. Nintendo had this to say on their success: “These numbers demonstrate that the Nintendo DS brand remains strong, and that consumers continue to look for the best new experiences on their portable video game systems.”
While many of you might be torn whether to purchase the DSi or not, it seems there are still plenty of you who believe that the console is worth it’s price. What are your thoughts on this?
