Tuk Tuk coming to USA: $10,000 starting price too high
By: Peter Chubb | April 16, 2009 | 8 CommentsIf you have ever visited Thailand, then you will have seen how primitive their roads and vehicles are. The vehicles that I am talking about it the Tuk Tuk, and although they do not look up to the job, they certainly serve their purpose. Well you will soon be able to experience these small vehicles in America as EPA and DOT have approved Tuk Tuk USA.
The Tuk Tuk is a three-wheeled machine that has the front end of a scooter and the rear end of a small passenger car. Tuk Tuk North America has now been given approval from DOT and EPA for its line of Mitsubishi-powered three-wheeler. This will mean that these small vehicles will be road legal in the United States.
These small scooter like vehicles achieve an estimated 55 miles per gallon and will come in a range of different styles. There will even be a passenger model, which will be able to transport up to 12-passengers at a time. The starting price for these Tuk Tuks starts at $10,000.
