Nintendo Wii: MotionPlus will not work with older titles

Nintendo has recently said that their upcoming Wiimote add-on MotionPlus will not have support for older titles such as Wii-sports. Nintendo was responding to a GameDaily article about how Nintendo would release a patch, allowing MotionPlus to be used on older games.

While that’s sure to be a blow for Nintendo Wii owners, Nintendo have also said that there is no plans to release a patch in the future to allow such support. How disappointing.

As reported from Joystiq, the statement from Nintendo reads: “The Wii MotionPlus accessory is only for games that are designed to make use of its abilities.”
