Sprint Palm Pre launch date May 17, June 29: which is it?

There are reports that a number of memos have been going around Sprint retail stores, they have issued a freeze during the month of May on staff vacations. Sprint has also started to train its employees with the Palm Pre, this in preparation of two planned launch dates.

Phonenews reports that Sprint have two launch windows for the Palm Pre smartphone, the first being May 17 and the second June 29. The question is which date are we likely to see the official launch of the Palm Pre?

May 17 is the preferred launch date, but that all depends if Sprint receive enough stock of the Palm Pre. If they do not, then Sprint will put back the launch until June 29. This is all speculation of course and we will just have to wait to hear from Sprint officially, hopefully that will be soon.

  1. FTWorld says:

What’s more important is, how much will the device cost?

If the pre is going to be priced at $300 then sprint might as well not worry about the phone being sold out. No one is going to pay that much to own a phone that’s on a carrier which is losing subscribers by the millions every quarter. on the other hand if people are able to own the phone at a more reasonable price, they’ll defintely be more willing to overlook any concerns they have about joining sprint’s network. and i’m certain they won’t have any regrets because i’ve been with sprint for over 10 years and i’ve never had a problem.
