Should Verizon join the AT&T Apple iPhone party?

AT&T looks ready to extend its exclusive deal with the Apple iPhone but is this deal hurting Apple, as they could have Verizon Wireless onboard as well. Steve Jobs should sit down, have a hard think, and see if this is the best course of action, having just one carrier is not the best decision that Apple has made.

Next year sees the end of the exclusive deal to carry the iPhone in the U.S., and ZDNet reports that sources close to the matter say that AT&T’s Mr. Stephenson is now in discussions with Apple to extend that deal to 2011.

AT&T is not stupid and is doing all it can to secure a new deal, and so far, the iPhone has been good for them. Apple to date has sold 4.3 million iPhones in the second half of 2008, but that could have been much more if they had another carrier, such as Verizon Wireless.

Do you think Apple should offer the iPhone to other carriers?

Only if it stirs competitive pricing! The iPhone was a sweet reason to get rid of Verizon!

Love Verizon, hate AT&T want the iPhone. Open it up to other carriers.

I’ve had AT&T when they were Cingular Wireless and they were horrible. It’s still the same company. I definitely desire the iphone but I am happy with Verizon and will not change carriers to get the iphone. I’ll wait. Hopefully, Apple will wise up and make the iphone available to other carriers.

I dislike AT&T- its still the Death Star to me. I have Verizon and have had them for several years; like all carriers they have issues from time to time. I would like a Iphone-but I am unwilling to switch.

    I second that.

Please open it to verizon my employer pays my verizon bill so, i am stuck but I would pay the cost for the iphone if they paid the bill, they need to open it up they would double or triple there sales if they opened it to all carries.

Please lift the chains off of the iPhone. There are so many customers stuck with other carriers who would love to pick up an iPhone. Go sign the petition to show apple why it shouldn’t be chained down to one carrier.

I want the iPhone but not enough to switch to AT&T. Please bring it to Verizon Wireless.

I think it would be good for Apple to have more carriers for the iPhone. I am actually happy with AT&T mainly because my wife and I don’t use the phone that much and can get away with using their cheapest family plan and have a ton of rollover minutes to rely on if we ever have to go over our monthly allotment. If Verizon did rollover, that would really put the icing on the cake.

  9. It is obvious that you have put alot of effort into this! I thought I’d just leave a quick message saying good job!!

I am very pleased with AT&T and the new I phone is sweet
verizon t moilbe sprint suck I had all of them
if apple is smart they won’t change a thing

I don’t know what part of the country you live in, but AT&T service is more or less bad in a lot of the bigger metro areas. I know in NYC and San Francisco, there’s tons of problems with AT&T.

Verizon has always worked everywhere I went in the US.
