Killzone 2: Co-op not coming as DLC - Guerilla Games

Some disappointing news for Killzone 2 fans now as Hermen Hulst from Guerilla Games has recently stated that the game will not be recieving any form of Co-Op in the way of downloadable content.

As reported by PSU, he was speaking in an interview with Game Informer and stated: “We looked at all the different flavors of co-op early on, but decided our first priority would have to be the single-player experience and the multiplayer.

He explained that in order to bring a Co-Op mode to the game, it would have to be given the same time and care that the single and multiplayer modes recieved and that was a factor that they ultimately decided against.

”Rather than just tack on co-op, it would have to be integrated and done to a similar standard as the single and multiplayer.”

Still, its not all doom and gloom for Killzone 2 fans as they still have the Steel & Titanium map pack to look forward to at the end of this month.

To bad there’s no co-op story. Co-op story is what gets my friends and I to play a game to start with and then, if the gameplay merits, we’ll move on to multiplayer battles. Given how much work went into making this game clan oriented and tactical, this was a big misstep. If you want to be a Halo killer, you can’t leave a major gameplay mode out! Ihave this rented now and it’s very pretty looking, but the gameplay mechanics are largely your standard fps set. The hook in an pfs has to be the story. No story, no interest. And without co-op story, I’ll stick to the fps I’ve already come to love first through, you guessed it, co-op story. Better luck next time Guerilla Game. Make a sequel with co-op story, and I’ll buy it.

great job people. I hate it when a good looking game comes out, but theres no way for me and my friends to play! having good co-op is essential to having a good time, which is what video games are for, correct?

anyway, this is just hurting us in the argument over whcih is better, PS3 or 360.
