iPhone inspired Chrysler’s 200C concept with iQ Power touch-screen system
By: Peter Chubb | April 15, 2009 | Leave a CommentWhen you look at a car from five years ago, they had a range of buttons inside, today our cars have far less buttons inside. The Chrysler 200C concept will use the iQ Power touch-screen system, which has been inspired by the Apple iPhone; this means that there will be no buttons.
The Chrysler 200C concept is a four-door electric car that was first shown at the 2009 Detroit auto show. The production-ready system of the iQ Power touch-screen system was patented by the Nartron Corporation; this is the company that is also behind the technology for the human-interface design used by other companies, such as Apple.
The New York Times explains that the iQ Power touch-screen system is unique in the way that it allows drivers to use any smartphone as a virtual key fob. The system lets you control a host of functions, such as locking and unlocking the doors, rolling up the windows and much more.
The interior of the Chrysler 200C concept uses a virtual trackball on the curved dashboard, by touching and dragging it, you will be able to control a number of the car’s functions. The 200C should be launched some time in 2012.
