Android OS 1.5 officially released: G1 on-screen keyboard reality
Filed under: Cell Phones, Phone Software

If you have been waiting patiently for Google to launch its Android OS 1.5, then you will be pleased to know that they have officially released and “early-look” basis. The update comes with some cool new features, and one thing is certain, G1 owners will be happy to know that the on-screen keyboard is now a reality.
Android Developers say that some of the new features include homescreen widgets, live folders, speech recognition and soft-keyboard support. This update is based on much of the work done by Google Android developers who have been working on Cupcake. We have to warn you that Android 1.5 is not officially compatible with current Android devices.
Over the next few weeks, Google will be rolling out tutorials; this information will allow Android developers to find out what is new to Android 1.5, as well as showing them how to use the new APIs. We know that T-Mobile have a NYC launch event on April 21, will this have anything to do with the Android update.
