The micro-blogging service, Twitter was hit by three different worm attacks over the weekend. These attacks started on Saturday and continued through to Sunday. Twitter has now said that they will review its coding practices, after it became known that a 17-year-old created the worms.

Michael “Mikeyy” Mooney was the person who created the StalkDaily Twitter-copycat site. The trouble began on Saturday at 2 a.m. PST; four accounts were created, which then begun to spread the worm on Twitter.

Biz Stone, Twitter’s co-founder said that their security team worked from 7:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. PST to eliminate the vectors, which would help to identify the worm. At that time around 90 accounts had been compromised, the team had identified and then made those accounts secure.

Net News Daily has interviewed the Creator of the StalkDaily Worm, read it here.
