Following on from the news earlier about the current “App Store” craze, and how every major mobile OS is getting their business in the game. We thought you might wish to hear about the amazing achievement Apple will be hitting soon with their App Store.

Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) may not have hit one billion application downloads just yet, but they are very close and show all the other mobile operating systems just how it should be done.

If you take a look at Apple’s count down page you will see a counter increasing at a fast rate. At the time of writing it shows 933,405, 730 application downloads for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

This is an amazing figure when you consider that the Apple App Store is less than a year old. The download figure will increase faster thanks to an offer Apple currently have. They said that anyone that downloads an app would be included in a merchandise giveaway that totals more than $13,000. Find out more here.
