Nintendo Wii struggles to ‘unhealthy condition’ in Japan
Filed under: Gaming, Nintendo Wii

The Nintendo Wii appears to be suffering some kind of slump at the moment over in Japan. The situation has gotten so bad over there for the company, that it has prompted President Satoru Iwata to state the Wii is in an ‘unhealthy condition.’
After the PS3 managed to outsell the Nintendo Wii for the first time in 16 months, a report over at Kotaku quoting Iwata states: ”The Wii is in the most unhealthy condition since it hit the Japanese market. The current condition in the Japanese market is not the one we want.”
He continued: “As of now I really don’t think that a price cut is a good option for us.”
Is this serious cause for concern for Nintendo? After being so dominant in Japan for a good period of time, are cracks finally starting to show? Let us know your thoughts.
