Nintendo DSi gets off to good start in US and Europe
By: Alan Ng | April 9, 2009 | Leave a CommentWe recently reported on the success of the DSi in Europe during the opening two days of it’s sale. Nintendo have now announced that the Nintendo DSi has sold 600,000 units in the US and EU combined, during the opening two days on sale.
Nintendo confirmed the news to Videogamer today, a solid start and promising future for the handheld then. While speaking to VG, Nintendo also pointed out that they have no current plans to enter the mobile phone game market, which is currently dominated by the iPhone.
After managing over half a million units combined in both areas, we wonder how much that figure will rise to, considering it’s only April and no doubt the DSi will be a hot item on one’s Christmas list this year.
