Mitsubishi Outlander GT Prototype appears at NY Auto Show

The Mitsubishi Outlander GT Prototype gets its official reveal today at the NY Auto Show, but Autoblog managed to get a sneak peak under the covers, just as the Japanese automakers gets ready for the presentation. The first thing that you will notice is how much it looks like a lowered Outlander, with a bit of Evo treatment thrown in for good measure.

The front grille is more aggressive than the current model, but most of the other changes are so hard to see that you need to walk up close to the thing. The thing that people will notice the most is those OZ split-spoke wheels.

Mitsubishi have not yet announced that this will become the new face of the production Outlander, but many fans hope that they will. Mitsubishi are clever in the way that they make a few subtle changes, but they are just enough to breath a bit of fresh air into an aging model.

There is no word about any modifications under the hood, but a quick look in the interior shows that it is packed out with leather. Hopefully today we will be able to let you know if the engine has received an upgrade.
