Verizon BlackBerry Storm 2 Release Date
By: Peter Chubb | April 8, 2009 | Leave a CommentThe BlackBerry Storm did not become as popular as Verizon had hoped, but RIM are already working on the BlackBerry Storm 2 and should have a release date sometime in September. There were a number of things that were the cause of the disappointing sales of the Storm, one was the horrible click touchscreen, and the other was the lack of WiFi.
Slashgear learned that the lack of WiFi was the biggest problem, so it is great to see that Research In Motion is addressing it. Slashgear are not able to name its source, but they do worry about how credible it is. The source says that along with WiFi, the BlackBerry Storm 2 will be a better Pro-consumer device than the first model.
We do hope that Verizon and RIM come up with a better version of that touchscreen. The first BlackBerry Storm had been hailed as a challenger to the Apple iPhone, and we know how that ended up. However, with the release of Blackberry App World, the Storm is now in a better position to take the fight to the iPhone.
