Palm Pre vs. iPhone 3G: Features Apple and AT&T charge you extra for

It was an easier choice for new Smartphone buyers a few months ago, if the choice was between Apple iPhone 3G and upcoming Palm Pre. This decision has become more difficult thanks to the pending iPhone 3.0 OS firmware.

You may already know about all the features on the way to the iPhone, and while many should have been there before it doesn’t matter now.

If we forget about the rumor of a new iPhone third generation in June 09, and then compare the features of Apple’s iPhone to Palm Pre, we cannot help but favor the Pre in many ways.

The choice has to come after careful consideration for new buyers or upgraders, but it looks like you will pay a lot more for the iPhone on a 2-year AT&T contract than you would for the Palm Pre on Sprint.

You get so much included in the Sprint Palm Pre, while Apple and AT&T charge you for many basic features that are free on the Pre.

It’s fair to say that Apple have the best application choice and may never be beaten here, but what do you want from a phone and service? Do you favor the Palm Pre because of the Sprint and AT&T comparison?
