A recent study has concluded that users are now playing games on the Apple iPhone for the same length of time as the other handheld gaming devices on the market such as the Sony PSP and Nintendo DS.
As reported by GI.Biz, the study was carried out by ng:moco, the iPhone publisher best known for popular game, Rolando. These findings are further proof that the iPhone is becoming a serious competitor in the handheld games market.
CEO from ng:moco Neil Young stated: “You look at the other end of the spectrum with Rolando and the average play session is 22 minutes. The average player is playing the game ten times. That’s a very different type of behaviour. That’s the type of behaviour you’d expect to see from a DS or PSP or a traditional console gameplay experience. Why do I believe this is different? Because I believe people are playing the games differently. And that’s enabled by what the device is able to do.”
