Amazon Xbox Live Store Released: PS3 and Wii could be next

Today saw the release of the new Amazon Xbox Live Store, which gives Xbox 360 gamers another way to buy games. Forget Microsoft points, Amazon likes cash for these purchases.

Buying Xbox Live digital games at Amazon may be handy to some, although we cannot see the point when it’s just as easy directly at the 360. With that in mind, would Sony PS3 and Nintendo Wii gamers really want to buy games at Amazon as well for digital download?

Lets be fair here, once you bought the Xbox 360 game at Amazon you still have to use a download code on the Xbox 360 to download the game. So why all the extra hassle?

Kotaku said that Amazon came back with the usual “don’t comment on future plans” when asked about PS3 and Wii options. We will let you know when/if Amazon launch a similar service for other games systems.

Unlikely, XBox is just playing catchup here, PS3 owners already pay for games in REAL money, and not some fake currency to attempt to hide the real cost…
