We have heard reports that that popular streaming service Spotify could be on its way to the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles as well as other platforms in the near future.
As reported from Videogamer, a Guardian article reveals that the Spotify team are planning to release an API which will enable third-party access to everything they need to embed the Spotify service in devices such as mobile phones, game consoles and set-top boxes.
This sounds like a great idea in our opinion. I have the Spotify service running myself and I can tell you that it is very impressive. To see this running on either the 360 or PS3 would be something special indeed and no doubt a feature gamers will grow to love.

Errm, I can already use it on PS3, using the build in webbrowser….
so how do u get it to work
I use Spotify daily (at work and at home) and loving it.
If it was to come to my 360 (and PS3) i would be very happy. Just having all music available in the background like it was in my own network would be totally sweet.
so how do you use Spotify on your ps3
Spotify currently runs on a Windows PC or on Linux via Wine. The current API will not allow for anything more than a native Linux version. I have a PS3 so would love Spotify for that too, but it’s not going to happen yet.
