Sony PSP2 touchscreen coming before Christmas

By: Alan Ng | April 7, 2009 | 4 Comments

We’ve heard a lot of rumours lately about the next iteration of the Sony PSP handheld. After the PSP-4000 stories have died down a little, we have today heard some fresh news from Pocketgamer about the next PSP.

According to Pocketgamer, the PSP2 will be released before Christmas and feature a large touchscreen. However, the touchscreen has a slide feature and will then reveal d-pads and dual analogue sticks. While this is no official statement from Sony, Pocketgamer claim to have obtained this information from a developer who is working on the hardware.

Do you think these details could be true? We know how fast news like this catches on around the internet so it will be interesting to see what happens within the week. Will Sony be prepared to change their stance on the PSP2?

i was really hoping for that flexible OLED screen, now i don't think im going to upgrade my old psp, what would be the purpose of a touch screen, if you have analogs or d-pads? like i dont even use the touch screen on my DS,
