By: Peter Chubb | April 7, 2009 | Leave a CommentSalesforce, the maker of business software has today launched a slimmed-down version of its customer-management services. Existing customers will be able to access the new service for free, only for those who use high-end mobile phones.
Reuters reports that Salesforce said that they would be able to reach more than 1 million users with the new Mobile Lite service. Salesforce is very popular with iPhone users; there have been more than 70,000 downloads of the app for the Apple iPhone in the past seven months.
Salesforce’s new mobile lite service will be available for customers using Research in Motion’s BlackBerry smartphones, Apple iPhone users and cell phones that run on Windows Mobile. Salesforce Chief Marketing Officer Kendall Collins has told Reuters that he hopes that those using the new free mobile lite service will be tempted to upgrade to some of the more expensive packages.
