Nintendo DSI Full Specs and Features: Evolution of handheld

We reported about the European release on Friday but American customers didn’t have to wait too long as the Nintendo Dsi is now available to buy over there too.

It was released yesterday and no doubt many excited fans would have been queuing up for hours hoping they could pick up a handheld for themselves. Priced at $169.99, the beefed up DS brings with a whole host of new additions, most notably the dual cameras.

Here is a list of the main features in the new handheld:

* 12% thinner than the original DS model
* Brighter 3.25-inch display
* Built-in web browser
*Access to DSi-shop via WiFi
* Improved audio quality and volume
* Support for SD cards
* Music playback
* Full compatibility with standard DS games
