PS3 Play TV: Update adds SD upscaler and more
By: Alan Ng | April 3, 2009 | 4 CommentsDoes anyone remember Sony’s Play TV gizmo? Well lets hope you do, as there is now a new update for the software which adds an SD upscaler feature as well as a few other additions.
As reported over at Videogamer, the new SD upscaler feature is said to improve picture quality and enhance contrast when viewing. Producer of Play TV Mark Bunting has demonstrated in a new video here, the feature in action.
Other addtions include the ability to launch into viewing TV directly from the PS3′s XMB, eliminating the previous method of having to first load the PlayTV app. There are also improved volume controls and better fast forward and rewind options.
Let us know what you think of the update. Do any of you still use Play TV regularly?
