PS3 Adoption: The new Sony initiative

It looks as if Sony are taking yesterday’s PS2 price cut announcement and moving on into the future. Today, we have heard that Sony will introduce a special PS3 bundle which will include a Slim PS2 console for only $20 extra.

As reported from Gamezine, the scheme will first be available in the US and then follow on in other regions if it is a success. The package will cost a total of $419.99 which is only $20 extra for the full cost of a PS3. For those of you who missed backwards compatibility, nows your chance.

Jack Tretton CEO of SCEA stated: ”We will be selling both consoles in one exclusive package for only $419.99. This will allow buyers to enjoy the 1,900 titles available for the PlayStation 2, whilst also taking advantage of the PlayStation 3’s growing library.”

Now we must hold our hands up and say that this is just an April fools guys. We have had a good look around at some of the ‘interesting’ stories out there and we have to say this is one of the best we have read today. Since it was such a good read we decided to post it up here too.

They almost had us with the ‘official’ quote from Sony, but the YouTube link to Rick Astley really made us tickle.

What about you guys? Have you seen any funny April fools news that ‘almost’ had you convinced? Let us know your stories.
