Microsoft have something to celebrate over in Japan as it has been revealed that the company have now passed the milestone of one million Xbox 360 units sold over there.

As reported from Andriasang, latest figures from Famitsu’s publisher Enterbrain revealed the stats today which suggests that the Xbox 360 is finally starting to pick up momentum over in Japan.

From the week ending March 29th, the sales over in Japan reached 1,001,191 units and it has taken Microsoft nearly three and a half years to acheive the feat over in Japanese shores.

While the PS3 remains the dominant console over there in many people’s eyes, this could be a reminder to some critics who think that Microsoft’s console will not be able to compete with the Japanese PS3 market.

Good news for Microsoft; it certainly took them a while to break into the Japanese market.
