Rumor: Sony PS3 2.70 Firmware Not Coming This Week

We earlier reported that Playstation 3 firmware 2.70 might be released this Thursday after apparant confirmation from Sony Ireland. Fresh news from gaming site IncGamer, as they believe the update is unlikely to come this week.

In the story from IncGamer, they said that they had seeked confirmation from Sony in the UK regarding all this speculation and to put the rumours to bed.

Of course, they are not going to make any sort of official comment just like that when put on the spot, but they did state, ”We haven’t announced new firmware therefore this is speculation and we don’t comment on speculation.”

Because of this, Incgamer feels the need to state that a firmware update won’t be coming this week just because of this. We think it’s too early to judge so we’ll just wait and see before we post such bold statements. What do you believe to be true?

I don’t believe anything I read on the Internet anymore.

First it was last week, because Resistance patch needed it (untrue it seems).

Then it was this week, because someone down the pub said so, now it’s not this week…

The internet gaming bloggers are clueless chumps.
