PS3′s Final Fantasy XIII will use 100% of power, Xbox 360 drools

Finally, a developer of a big time game that isn’t afraid to use more than one DVD. Sure it’s been done in the past with blue dragon but not on a game of this magnitude. It will take less time for a 360 user to swap a disc than it will for a PS3 user to wait for the install so they can continue playing the game.

LOL. Until my 360 scratches disc #2 and I can’t go from disc #1 to disc #3. Then the game will be garabage or a trade in at gamestop. I think I will buy this one for my PS3. Thats were Final Fantasy belongs anyway. 360 will be a port ;-(

The PS3 still offers us hardly any quality games as the 360 continues to just pump out one after another. Why would any 360 owner consider dropping their system and waste their money on a PS3 when they could get like 7 great 360 game for less money?

Game companies will continue to optimize and we will see better looking games than Gears Of War 2 on the Xbox 360. Heck Gears Of War 2 is nothing to scoff at. No one else has yet put in a development cycle as insane as Guerrilla has so it’s understandable why we haven’t seen games at Killzones level yet. Heck Gears Of War 2 has the second best graphics on a console, understandable as it didn’t have the insane development cycle Killzone 2 had. Game companies don’t want to keep gamers waiting that long when they know a couple extra games over the next 10 years could bring in millions more than taking an extra year to develop a game and pumping out a couple less games. It just all comes down to money.

In most graphical areas the 360 is equally as powerful or more. In one area the PS3 is 1/4 more powerful.

As far as triangles per second the PS3 is anywhere between 250 million and 400 million. 360 is minimum 500 Million per second.

Games like NHL 09 and GTA IV look a lot better on 360 and play better.

I love PS got PS2 the day it came out. But this whole 360 isn’t as powerful as PS3 is garbage I bet FFXIII looks better on 360 and at the very least just as good.

I agree with Jordan here. The Xbox 360 and PS3 have their own positives and negatives. The 360 does have the better graphic card and the PS3 spanks the 360 in processing power. The 360 is capable of better graphics but the PS3 should be far more capable at producing some insane particle effects. In the end it is about the developers using these advantages to the benefit of the game and if done right both systems are extremely capable of delivering an incredible expeirience.

I am not looking to start a fan boy battle here. Frankly I am getting sick and tired of it. Seems like every time I put up a reasonable post some PS3 fan boy is all over me.

Okay before i begin i will say i am a ps3 fanboy i’m very aware of my fanboyism and don’t care i will say there are some 360 exclusives i enjoy like halo 3, gears 1 and 2, fable 2, Star ocean 4, and mass effect. It pisses me off when people say the ps3 offers hardly any good games when infact i find there to be better ps3 exclusives than 360. There’s Metal Gear Solid 4, Killzone 2, Resistance 2, Little Big Planet, Valkrie Chronicles, Ratchet and clank future, Naruto ultimate ninja storm, Heavenly sword, and Uncharted. Thats plenty of fun games. ps3 has more future potential as well all 360 has for 2009 is expansions just about halo 3 odst expansion, fallout 3 expansion, gta4 expansion, the only true exclusives they have this year are halo wars, ninja blade, and alan wake.I mean there are more but most of them we’ll be average if that. Meanwhile ps3 here has InFamous, Heavy Rain, Uncharted 2, Mag, White Knight Chronicles, God of war 3, New team ico game, and even though it’s not a true exclusive Ninja gaiden sigma 2 looks to be quite nice. Then later on there will be Resistance 3, Gran Turismo 5, New Twisted Metal, Final Fantasy versus 13, Yakuza 3, and even though it’s not been announced i can almost garuntee a new kingdom hearts game for ps3. Ps3 will surpass the 360 in sales by September 2010 if not sooner because with all these great exclusives as well as a ps3 price cut on the way it seems obvious witch way thing’s are going to turn out. Now as to this i believe Final Fantasy 13 will be superior on the ps3 as the game was built around the unit’s capabilities it will prolly look better and run smoother on ps3. I understand they claim that they are going to try to maximise the 360 version to but they won’t end up taking all the time to do it it will prolly just end up generic because they have spent to many years working on the game and are ready to release it world wide and make money off it so the 360 version will end up being a rushed port to get it out faster and make money while the ps3 version has been carefully built to perfection and maximised the capabilities of the ps3 console.

…nice grammar, 360 owners will not jump ship simply because according to your mysterious sources the limits of the 360. People said that about the PS2 then Yakuza 2 was released. Anyway do you not think the fact that microsoft secured square enix to develop for the 360 after 12 years of exclusive development suggests quite the opposite. Final fantasy XIII may indeed look better on the PS3, however that does not meen 360 owners will jump ship. The 360 will continue to get exclusives, after all Microsoft is a far larger company.

i think the xbox 360 wil do just fine with ff 13. i dont have a ps3 but it’s true that ff13 actually belongs on ps.
but i see you guys are making a fuzz about what will be the best console to play on. i think it wont really matter both ps3 and xbox 360 have their ups and downs some games run better on 360 other games better on ps3.
and i dont think you guys need to worry it is SQUARE ENIX that creates the game and that means quallity!

and btw if you guys take a look at farcry 2 for xbox then you will know what the xbox is capable of, the game looked almost the same as on my friends 5000 euro game PC and it runs just as smooth so.(its all about the guys who create the game)

Lol, compare a PS3 exclusive with a XBOX360 exclusive on HD tv, (ive done it and PS3 kicks the XBOx’s ass in performance and graphics) so why does far cry 2 look better on the xbox?
Its because the PS3 code is new and hard for game programmers to program, as the xbox360 uses code simmular to programming languages on PC.

1. The Wii is currently in the lead… and surprised the game industry. OTOH the majority of Wii buyers are satisfied with the pack-in game, and some get Wii-Fit. (Nintendo was smart not to take a loss on console sales as per std practice).
2. That does prove graphics is not the be-all,end-all of console wars. I think outside of hardcore gaming… the wii is capable of having acceptable graphics, I think the main reason PS3 is starting to gain marketshare is a.) Price reduction, b.) the other two consoles have reached market saturation.
3. I think the industry as a whole is going mainstream and more aimed at casual gamers, so I don’t see any of this mattering too much since an xbox is very capable of running 4 player cooking mama as well as a ps3 can.

So for those of you that don’t know, here are the facts: Sony tapped IBM on the shoulders to custom build them a PowerPC processor with 8 cores. YES, 8. During the IBM/Sony “CELL” processor Codevelopement, Microsoft came thru and hit IBM up for something quick, cheap and powerful. That’s why Xbox came out like a year earlier than thes PS3. Sony didn’t care because their plan was was for the long haul. Anyway, IBM sold Microsoft a semi-custom PowerPC based Processor that had 3 processor cores that can execute 6 threads simultaneously. So Xbox360 has the same damn processor as the Playstation 3. Except is has only 3 cores. In fact an IBM Cell processor is called the Xeon(no relation to intel). The PS3 cpu has 6cores for games and 1core for the OS, total theoretical performance is 204.8 GB/s. The XBOX360 has three cores and the total theoretical performance is 115.2 GB/s Recent tests by IBM show that the SPEs(aka cpu cores) can reach 98% of their theoretical peak performance… DO THE MATH.

Oh ya, to throw a wrench into the mix, The wii is basically running the same cpu as the old game cube!!! Not much faster. And finally, all three consoles are running the old Apple Computer CPU’s aka PowerPC Cpu’s! So in essence, we’re all going to be playing FFXIII on what once could have been Mac cpu’s!

Remember the PS2 and the Xbox, the xbox was far superior in every aspect of hardware between the two units. Processor, graphics card memory, etc. But the PS2 absolutely demolished the xbox in sales etc. WHY!?! Because it was released first and everyone had a chance to get the PS2, and by the time the xbox was released it was so far behind it couldn’t claw it’s way out even though its games were great and was able to handle more. WAIT A SEC anyone else seeing a trend here? I own both systems and I’m far happier with the xbox and it’s games and online play. The PS3′s Cell Processor has only been used to a maximum of 60 – 70% lately, because of the current release of “Uncharted 2 :Among Thieves”

The issue is not with the systems exactly….it is a limitation on disc capacity if SE did not compress the game for 360 it would have taken about 2 more disc and the game graphical quality would have been just as good…..I love my 360 but I am going to have to say the PS3 one looks better and only because of the compression that had to be done on the 360 version to make it fit.

The PS3 Cell is capable of processing graphical calculations, something which the Xbox 360 can't do. Hence why the PS3 Exclusives like Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted / 2, KillZone 2, God of War 3..etc look so good. Far better than anything the Xbox 360 Can do.

I'm not a fan Boy, but we all know whats better when it comes to Technology. The xbox 360 is a Computer that was just slapped together to beat the PS3 to market. Happened when PS2 came out then Xbox. PS2 sold tons more. The PS3 is future technology, which can do more than just play video games. Hell the Xbox 360 still has a DVD player for movies and games. Which has a theoretical limit of what? 8.5gb. How about Blu-ray, 200gb.

What you see for graphics now on the Xbox 360 is what it can do. They have tapped the Xbox 360 to it's full potential. Remember when Ps2 first came out, games didn't look awsome, they looked great. Took a few years and games kept getting better and better, till they hit the hardware wall. It has happened for the Xbox 360. The PS3 is still on it's run, and games will continue to get better.

good graphics storyline sound and controller layout.i play my xbox more than the ps3 not
because xbox is better but because there online chat is good compared to ps3.if only the ps3
had a simulare layout.ps3 graphics rock true 1080p but allot of games arnt 1080p and
xbox does not like 1080p freezes up sometimes.tested on 18 machines and 5 diffrent games.best bet run it in 720p.

if you have a XBOX 360 get the XBOX 360 version
i have both and going to get the PS3 just because of nostalgia (most people will)

Uncharted 2 has blown every 360 exclusive away. 26 perfect reviews, not to mention all of the award shows it swept. Heavy Rain has graphics that the 360 can't touch. You got Killzone 2, Resistance 1& 2, Little Big Planet, Metal Gear Solid 4, God of War 3, etc.

I just don't see how you can say that the PS3 has no games, when clearly it does.
