Pistachio recall over possible salmonella contamination

A Central California company has to recall over a million pounds of pistachios over possible salmonella contamination. Setton Farms’ plant in rural Tulare County have had a visit from food safety officials, who are conducting a search to see if it will lead them to the source of the contamination.

The Pistachio recalls began last Friday when the Georgia Nut Company decided to recall its Kraft Back to Nature Nantucket Blend trail mix, this was in direct response to some sample test proving positive for salmonella.

Setton Farms has since started its own recall of roasted pistachios, Kroger has also started a recall. Thankfully, no illnesses have been reported yet. For more information on this, visit CBS News.

Fortunately the recall was made as early as now.. it was good to hear that no one became ill because of pistachio products.. hope this crisis will soon be resolved..
