Spotify has signed a great music deal that will allow them to not only sell songs online, but also play them as well. The free music service is already attracting thousands of new users every day, and it seems that Spotify is ready to take on Apple iTunes.
The Independent says that Spotify is a lot like iTunes, there is also a link where European users can download content at 320 kilobyte per second for MP3 songs as well as whole albums. This is done via London-based online music store, 7Digital. Tracks will sell for as little as 50p each and £3 for a whole album.
Spotify is now taking the fight to iTunes, but still have a way to go, but the early signs certainly look good. Spotify has a catalogue of six million tracks, and has now passed over one million members. If you do not like to listen to ads, then you can become a part of the premium streaming service. The charge is £9.99 per month, and for that, you can listen to tracks ad-free.
This new music download service will have to go a long way to beat the king that is iTunes, and news that Apple have started to offer a HD Movie download service will mkae them tough to beat.

Spotify rocks, it’s like iTunes but they hold all the albums and it’s free. The ads are fairly infrequent and it’s uses less of the system than iTunes which means even if I have the album on iTunes I may still listen to it on Spotify as the performance is better.
Spotify also has all though old and rare albums that I’ve found it either hard to get hold of or had on Vinyl and never re-bought - and now I don’t have to.
