CTIA 2009: Motorola LTE enodeb, Wireless Broadband Radio

We have not seen anything exiting from Motorola in the way of new handsets, but as the company is a leading provider of broadband networks, they will be showing of their Wireless Broadband Radio (WBR) at CTIA Wireless 2009.

Fox Business tells us that the WBR 500r from Motorola is a huge advancement and offers a zero footprint LTE solution; this addresses the full scope of wireless carriers needs when it comes to an advanced LTE RAN solution while meeting the size, and deployment cost criteria.

Motorola will be using its flexible eNodeB LTE base stations, which will provide support Frequency Division Duplex (FDD: 8.93, -0.426, -4.55%) or Time Division Duplex (TDD: 21.5, -0.2, -0.92%). This will also be available in a range of frequencies from 700MHz to 2.6GHz, with bandwidths from 1.4 MHz to 20MHz.

Wireless Broadband Radio will offer improved performance and superior power efficiency, the result is reduced energy consumption, meaning that there is a reduced cost of ownership.
