PS3 vs. Xbox 360 Gamers: What if PSN and LIVE combined?

You’re probably reading the title and wondering, How could that possibly work? The GamerAccess have written an article on this very subject and highlighted the ways in which this could have more advantages than disadvantages.
With the PSN fanbase at 20 million accounts and Microsoft’s 17 million Xbox Live accounts, the article explains how combining the two networks could cut costs for publishers considerably and solve financial problems that have been occuring lately.
Other positives to take into account is the one ”dream” feature that many gamers have wanted all along: Cross-platform support. While Sony and Microsoft might not see the benefits of Cross-platform titles for obvious reasons, its safe to say that gamers will. The ability to play your favourite games, on one combined server is a great way for many reasons. One) to cut costs for developers, Two) A friendly way for PS3 and Xbox 360 owners to compete online, reducing all the ‘hate’ that goes around on the Internet and Three) Giving smaller games the chance to expand their communities.

forget PSN XBOX live is the way to go however if this cuts costs for developers and gives them fiances to make servers lagg free then im all for it but if our PSN counterparts get some XBOX live features that they dont even pay for then screw it..
PSN gaming is already lag free, as it uses dedicated servers, not rubbish P2P servers like Xbox lives uses…
The irony, paying for online gaming and getting an inferior service. Who would have thought microsoft would have been able to condition gamers to ignore this massive point.
No thanks. PSN is free, and does not have the 14yr kids screaming abuse into their headsets constantly…
PSN is for the more grown up gamers..
Very true, I don’t want to have to pay for this either which that would probably result in… And i don’t want cross platforming or whatever because Xbox gamers are too …. abusive…
Ok i have to stop you there I am a Live player myself, i do agree with you on the subject of there being a bunch of annoying kids that dont know when to shut ther mouths but not all of xbox live is screaming kids only a small % of the gamers do that are, there is also the ability to mute or report them. So beleive me live isnt all 14yr olds majority of live players are from 15-24 yrs old so dont think xbox is just small annoyying kids.
I think this is a great idea , PSN is awsome as well as LIVE and both together will rock!!!
FEEL FREE TO SPAM ME 360 FANBOYS!
I would absolutely love this to happen
ps. xbox live users are less abussave then PSN users
I Agree that this is a good idea. With developement costs as high as they have become I think this is an extremely important step. I mean how many people actually want to pay more than $60 for a game? Not me. Think about how many games you buy in a year. 3 or 4 so the fee for Xbox LIVE is essentially paying for a budget title.
Infinity Ward has stated that 11 million people have played COD 4 on XBOX Live while only 4 million people have played COD 4 on PSN with a PS3. If PSN is soooo awesome then why the heck are nearly 3 times more people playing one of the best MP FPSs on XBOX live? And it is not because of Killzone 2 since these numbers were released about the same time as Killzone 2. I wonder how many of those 20 million PSN users are still gaming on a PS2 because you conveniently left that bit of info out. Dont get me wrong I am growing tired of all the constant “your mamma” jokes and pointless team killing on XBOX Live but im sure PSN has some of this too just not nearly as much. Oh and XBOX 360 reliability really sucks and I dont know if I will buy the next XBOX system if it doesnt come with a 5 year warranty for all hardware failures.
would be a good idea i must admit.
but lets face it all you get on PSN are abusive little kids whose parents purchased them a console without thinking about its wireless capability and free playing. So all PSN gets is little noobs who think they developed the game.
The Xbox live side has more professional players and less idiots (expect for halo 3 of course where all teh american idiots are).
I have both consoles and say for None-online gaming Ps3 for professional and online gaming Xbox 360.
done
Are you serious… I never get abuse on PSN except once about a year ago… Xbox you got every one shouting abuse at you and that is a a normal occurance.. and my xbox loving friends (prats) they only play Halo 3 and talk about arguments they had with Mexicans and stuf… and your saying that PSN is bad… NO its not
mainly because no one has a headset which is very annoying…
well needless to say of you narrowminded morons all platforms have there good and down sides.
