PS3 vs. Xbox 360 Gamers: What if PSN and LIVE combined?
By: Alan Ng | March 30, 2009 | 15 CommentsYou’re probably reading the title and wondering, How could that possibly work? The GamerAccess have written an article on this very subject and highlighted the ways in which this could have more advantages than disadvantages.
With the PSN fanbase at 20 million accounts and Microsoft’s 17 million Xbox Live accounts, the article explains how combining the two networks could cut costs for publishers considerably and solve financial problems that have been occuring lately.
Other positives to take into account is the one ”dream” feature that many gamers have wanted all along: Cross-platform support. While Sony and Microsoft might not see the benefits of Cross-platform titles for obvious reasons, its safe to say that gamers will. The ability to play your favourite games, on one combined server is a great way for many reasons. One) to cut costs for developers, Two) A friendly way for PS3 and Xbox 360 owners to compete online, reducing all the ‘hate’ that goes around on the Internet and Three) Giving smaller games the chance to expand their communities.
We would like to know your views on this. Would you welcome a combination of PSN and Xbox Live? Give us your ideas on how you would make it work.
