Palm Pre’s WebOS and TealPoint Software’s TealOS
By: Peter Chubb | March 30, 2009 | Leave a CommentThe mobile world stood up and took notice of TealPoint Software, once they unveiled its WebOS look-alike interface for the Palm OS for Smartphone’s. TealOS seems to have breathed some new life into the aging Palm OS handsets, much like the Palm Centro.
IntoMobile has said that the TealOS application launcher has some UI elements that certainly do a good job of mimicking the upcoming Palm Pre’s WebOS features. Some of these include wave launcher; this can be called up from any application.
Palm is not happy with TealOS, as they like to keep all things WebOS locked to the Palm Pre; they do not want any WebOs copycats as they could persuade customers from purchasing the upcoming Palm Pre. Palm got in touch with its legal people to kill of TealOS.
Palm have a lot riding on the new Palm Pre, and it could be the make or break of the company.
