Call of Duty fans are once again in for a big treat this year when Modern Warfare 2 gets it’s long awaited release onto Xbox 360 and PS3 later this year. Saftey’s-Off have written a detailed article on some of their thoughts and opinions as to what to expect when the game arrives.

One of the main highlights of the sequel will be the fact that the game will be handled once again by Infinity Ward, who did such a fantastic job on the first title. The article, which can be read in full here suggestions the improvements IW can make to make the sequel an instant hit with fans.

Deeper weapon customizations, Customized Character/Avatar options, Co-op mode, Clan support and Skill-Matching are the main topics of discussion here. If Infinity Ward were planning to include any of these, it would be a welcome addition with it’s legion of fans I’m sure.

Take a look at the article in full and then let us know what you would like to see.

As a PS3 owner, my expectation is that coming 8 months after Killzone2, it has to offer better graphics and better gameplay.

However as a realist, COD MW2 will certainly disappoint PS3 owners after playing Killzone2. It’s a shame that we have to suffer the limitations of Xbox in PS3 multiplatform titles.

They best add in the option of being able to play online with a friend on one console.

The only reason the Xbox 360 is limited is because the DVD they use is only capable of storing 6.8GB’s. Sure the PS3 has the far more powerful processor but the Xbox 360 has the more powerful graphics card. However the PS3 should be able to produce better particle effects. If game companies weren’t so afraid to put their games on more than one DVD we could get games like Killzone 2 as well. So don’t think the Xbox 360 is limited hardware wise as it is just as capable as the PS3.

I personally would wrather not see co-op in modern warfare 2. Look at the expeirience modern warfare offered. Do you honestly think it would have been anywhere near as good with co-op? I agree that with most games I love that they have co-op but somehow I think it would hurt modern warfare more than help it.

As for expecting the game to have better graphics than Killzone 2 it just wouldn’t be possible because of the short developement time. Look at how long it took Guerrilla games to make a game look as good as Killzone 2 and tell me how many studios out there are committed to a developement cycle like that? The answer is probably one or two at the most with one of them being Crytech. You probably wont see many more games that look as good as Killzone 2 on consoles this generation. The developement is just to costly for developers.

yeah its would be capable if it wasnt limited. killzone 2 would make the 360 melt LMFA0

Just wait until the next release of the unreal engine (or other engines for that matter). That is bound to push the boundaries again. disc capacity is not an issue if the engine is properly optimized. Just look at the kkrieger showcase (google it). This is a FPS game with high res textures that don’t pixelate when close up and yet comes in at a size smaller than 100kb. you could fit 85000 copies of that game onto one DL DVD. Crysis certainly doesn’t need Bluray to run and Killzone 2 doesn’t have anything that couldn’t be done with the 360.

  • kyle

i agree with you after playing killzone 2 i dont think the gameplay could get any better in grahics or gameplay

  • Mark

The kkrieger showcase is not Representative of how consoles work, it’s CPU generated rendering. You can’t write a full game like that, you need texture overlays, which is why you need Blu-Ray.

GTA IV was limited by the 360, Rockstar said this many times, i’m sure there are plenty of other multiplatform games where the 360 limits what the PS3 version end up like.

It’s not a huge problem, as there are 45 or so studios producing PS3 platform exclusives, and the PS3 exclusive lineup this year is so good, you really don’t even need the inferior multiplatform titles.

As for the guy that thinks the 360′s GPU is somehow magicaller better than the PS3s Want to give us proof of that? Firstly neither the PS3 GPU or the XBox GPU specs have ever been made official, and anything else is speculation, even IF the speculation is close to reality, the transistor counts for both are very close indeed.

I think PS3 owners will see many more games looking this good.

Guerrilla are a Sony owned studio, and the tech and engine used in KZ2 will be used (and improved further upon) in many more PS3 exclusive games from other 1st party developers…

KZ2 has set the standard, and more PS3 games will meet and exceed this standard. KZ2 is using 1/3rd of the PS3′s capabilities.

    Good Times….

why wouldnt it have better or equal graphics as killzone 2? MW2 has been in development since the first one was released (infinity said so!), do your research. And the 360 is more powerful than you think, it may only be able to store 7GB on the DVD but have you ever heard of “file compression”, thats what microsoft does, oh and we dont have to wait 30 minutes to load and begin play, we play MW2 before you guys even get the game installed, ps3 is garbage, its just a crappy PC with a last minute controller!Look at the numbers there are better and more hardcore gamers on the 360, more players more fun, better graphics, even MGS4 barely met the budget of sales because more people own a 360 than ps3, killzone 2 was ok but the only thing the game had going for it is graphics but the hardware still ran much error on the ps3. CoD is better on xbox, period, even my friend was a hardcore ps3 gamer…. until it got the YLOD then he got a 360 and liked CoD better on it! MW2 will be dominated by the 360 end of discussion!!!

It figures that all the sony fanboys would be googling this because they all want their 600 dollar precious’s to be better. Get off your ass guys the xbox came first and as far as FPS goes it will always be better. Killzone 2 graphics are sweet but the controls are lacking in feel and in the actual controller. MW2 will be the same graphically and the online community for XBOX LIVE is better. Enjoy!

  • john

FPS is much better on Xbox 360. You guys can have your little hand controllers and the online community is much better as well on the 360. Killzone graphics are cool but gameplay sux nuts. MAG’s 240 some odd players yet graphics suck and very straightforward shooter. HAve fun as I am in nno way jelous! Left for Dead 2 here I come!

xbox 360 owners are so pathetic, they just need to accept the truth, you can say that the 360 is capable of having games like uncharted 2 all you want but the reality is that you DONT, and the worst part is that the 360 had a headstart on the ps3 and it STILL can’t compete when it comes to exclusives. When the ps3 first came out the only thing 360 owners had against it was “there arent enough games, and its too expensive”, but now we have better games than the 360 owners AND the price has dropped…360 fanboys are absolute shit, a complete waste of space.
