By: Peter Chubb | March 30, 2009 | 1 CommentWe all understand to purchase more energy-efficient devices we have to spend just a few more dollars, so you will be shocked to know that a new light bulb has been developed and will cost a massive $119. For that price, the thing needs to be made from gold.
Times-Standard has said that the GeoBulb LED Light Bulb with is low watts usage and high price has been developed by a Humboldt County company called C. Crane Company, and are calling it “the best light bulb in the world.” The bulb uses just 7.5 watts and produces the equivalent of a 60-watt incandescent light bulb. The bulb has a lifespan of 30,000 hours, or 10 years.
C. Crane Company has been developing the GeoBulb LED Light Bulb for three years now, and is now ready for launch. The company hopes that this new bulb will help to encourage more developers to come up with more energy-efficient products.
The new bulb comes in a choice of three colors, cool, soft and warm. The company knows that the $119 price tag is a bit high and is looking to address it in the future.
Energy saving bulbs are the future and will be the only light bulbs available to is in a few years, as the traditional tungsten light bulbs are now being fazed out.
