Nintendo DS overtakes Sony PSP again in Japan
By: Alan Ng | March 27, 2009 | Leave a CommentThe Nintendo DS has leapfrogged the Sony PSP to once again claim top spot in the Japanese hardware chart. The latest figures from MediaCreate are from the week ending March 22nd.
Last time we wrote about the PSP’ success and how it managed to shift almost 60,000 units to take top spot. Well this week according to a report by GI.Biz, the Nintendo DS was able to shift just over 80,000 units to reach the top spot.
This was mainly down to hugely popular game, ‘Super Robot Taisen K’ which sold 120,000 copies so far. As for the other consoles, the PS3 remains in 3rd position with 25,435. The Xbox 360 must be suffering some kind of slump over in Japan at the moment as a strange turn in events has seen the console managing just 5441units.
