GDC 09: Nintendo planning ‘DSi-Enhanced Game Cards’
By: Alan Ng | March 26, 2009 | Leave a CommentFresh reports from GDC 09 have indicated that Nintendo are planning to release special DSi game cards which will offer enhanced functionality with the Nintendo DS. The game cards will still work on the original DS but will offer gamers extra features if they have it on the DSi.
As reported by Videogamer, Masato Kuwahara who is the project leader of the Nintendo DSi Hardware group stated: “For example, you will use these features if you want to create textures from photographs taken with the DSi camera. ”
So, it’s good and bad news really, the bad being for those for already own a DS game to find out it might have extra features, but only for those with a new DSi.
Let us know your thoughts on this. The new DSi is set for an 5th April release in the US, slightly later than Europe who will get it on the 3rd April.
